A Natural Home with Simply Earth
I do not use chemical cleaners here in the yurt. I have in the past used natural products from a variety of companies or just used baking soda and vinegar or some combination of lemon juice and/or vinegar to clean. Always baking soda to scrub; salt if I needed something with more oomph. I had never explored the use of essential oils except when I used them when I was making soap.
I was very intrigued when Simply Earth offered to send me their April Recipe Box. It had 4 essential oils (lemon, tea tree, nutmeg and a blend called BO Be Gone that includes Patchouli, Ylang Ylang, Sandalwood, Lavender, Sweet Orange.) The box also had an aluminum spray bottle, organic castile soap and recipes for 6 all natural home cleaning products.
Limited Time Offer $40 Bonus Box
I was also sent a really cool bonus box that held two different types of coconut oil – liquid and solid – almond oil, beeswax and different bottles for future projects.
Simply Earth offers a subscription box on a monthly ($39) or quarterly basis ($45) where you receive a box with 4 essential oils plus recipes and some extras. There is also a shop for essential oils, carrier oils, and other products to help you make the natural products for your home.

Tea Tree and Lemon Surface Cleaner for Your Natural Home
1/3 cup hot distilled water
1 tsp borax
2 tsp white vinegar
10 drops tea tree essential oil
10 drops lemon essential oil
spray bottle
Stir the borax into the hot water until it dissolves.
Then add the vinegar and the essential oils.
Carefully pour the mix into the spray bottle. The aluminum will get hot so be careful!
Wasn’t that easy? It smells really good too!
I used it on my kitchen counters and it worked great. I was very happy with this recipe and the resultant natural cleaning solution.
Are You Ready to Try a Simply Earth Recipe Box?
I’m looking forward to making some of the other recipes included in this box; I had to wait ’til the hubby brought me home some borax before I could make several of them. Now I have said borax in hand so I’ll be good to go.
