Summer comes later to Montana than other places in the country but when it hits, it hits HARD. I was surprised that the temperatures here reached into the high 90ies and stayed there for extended periods. I figured this northern state would remain more temperate. Mind you, I’m not complaining – I LOVE the heat. I am one happy woman when the temperatures rise to those levels. That doesn’t mean, though that I don’t need a good antiperspirant, ’cause I do. Although I must admit that I sweat far less in this dry environment than I did in the humidity of New Jersey. I have used one brand my entire life – OK, I would try others for a day or two but I always went back to my favorite. That is until I was sent new Dove Advanced Care Antiperspirant/Deodorant; I have been using it for a week now and I’m not going back.
There are eight different scents and I was sent two to experience; revive with scents of pomegranate and lemon verbena and nourished beauty scented with a floral powdery fragrance with notes of jasmine and rose. I was glad to receive two different scent types, but must write that I enjoy the fruity, revive scent more than the floral, nourished beauty. I just have a tart personality – heh! The scents in these products are very light and do not interfere with anything else you might wear.
I am very pleased with how the Dove Advanced Care has been working for me; I took them with me to BlogPaws last week and even in the desert of Las Vegas I didn’t experience any wetness under my arms. My previous product didn’t completely stop that from happening. I am hoping this will continue as I head into my summer activities. I don’t have anything really special planned – although my birthday occurs in high summer and I never know what the hubby will have in store for the celebration – but I do end up out in the heat for various activities.
Last year we went huckleberry picking and while we go to a higher elevation to do so it does occur during the hotter periods of the summer. We spend a whole day out in the sun looking for the delicious little berries so I know I’ll need the protection that the Advanced Care will offer. It’s also nice that it contains NutriumMoisture™ that leaves the often overlooked skin under my arms feeling soft, smooth and moisturized. Did you know that when you shave under your arms you remove 36% skin? I didn’t! This part of our bodies needs a little TLC I think.
I spend part of every day taking care of my goats as you all know and having to deal with them in the heat of summer can be very challenging. Especially when I have little ones. The older goats don’t run around as much in the heat but nothing seems to deter the kids from leaping and hopping. It’s good that the Dove offers 48 hour odor and wetness protection but I usually smell like a goat at the end of my day so while this is good to know I’m in the shower at night.
The last place I end up battling the heat is in my kitchen. The hottest days of summer coincide with canning and processing season. All of the vegetables and fruits start to come in and I’m working at the stove to get them ready to put up for the winter. It’s hard work but well worth it when I have shelves and a freezer full of whatever the hubby grew. It will be nice to not be sweating like mad in a hot kitchen.
I know that my underarms will be summer ready thanks to Dove Advanced Care. Any irritation that might have been there before is gone and I’ll be all set for the full onset of Montana’s summer. I say BRING IT ON! I’ll be prepared for whatever it can throw at me.
