I mentioned in an earlier post that I’m heading out to another blogging conference – BarkWorld/MeowWorld in Atlanta at the end of October. My girlfriend lives in the city and I’ll be extending the trip to have a little mini-vacation. I’m really looking forward to it; I’ll be visiting my oldest friend – not in years mind you – I’ve known her since I was 12 and she was 11. We have managed to stay connected through many moves and life changes.
I want to be sure I have some comfortable outfits to wear that will travel well. I like to take pieces I can mix and match and change up with accessories. I was lucky during the Spring Fashionista Event and I won a shirt and pair of pants from Foxcroft thanks to Kirsten Marie. For the shirt I chose this glorious turquoise color ’cause you know I don’t do quiet. I have to say that I’ve very impressed with how it’s constructed; the seaming provides some shape and the material is a no iron cotton. It washes like a dream and comes out of the dryer ready to wear.
I’ve paired it with my go-to pair of khaki pants and a new shoe I’ve discovered – little ballet flats from a company called Tieks. I won a coupon for $100 off or I never would have been able to afford them as they are very expensive but I must admit they are very comfortable. They fold up and are fantastic for traveling. They come in a wide array of colors and patterns and I truly wish I could have several pairs but it’s just not in the budget.
The beauty of a classic shirt like the one from Foxcroft is the ability to dress it up. I found some beautiful dressy scarves on Etsy. I chose them to go with this shirt and my hot pink sweater so that I can mix and match to have different looks. I love the details on the scarf.
I think this will be perfect for the sessions during the day and for going out to dinner in the evening. It’s comfortable and I think it fits the business casual model. I can’t wait for my trip and I’m really looking forward to seeing my online friends as well as my childhood friend.
I just need to sort out a couple of more pieces and I’ll be all set for my second blog conference. It’s a job rebuilding a wardrobe!
