You all know about the City Cats by now – those of you following me on Instagram see all of their antics (especially Fang!) on the regular – and you would have seen the receipt of their new Coredy Self Cleaning Cat Litter Box. It was cause for big excitement in their lives. Read on to learn all about this innovative new box and how much easier it has made things for me.
The Coredy Self Cleaning Cat Litter Box is just that – a litter box that basically “scoops” itself. It does so by rotating so that the cat waste falls into a bin in the bottom where a waste bag awaits. All I have to do is remove that waste bag and make sure there is adequate litter in the machine.
So.Very.Easy.
But does it work? And do the cats use it? I can answer yes to both of those questions. It was an immediate use situation, I will tell you that. They had to get used to this new machine in their midst but after a couple of months it is being used very regularly. All I have to do is open the bottom, gather up the baggie and drop the waste into the bin. No scooping! (click the link below to watch it in all of its glory. Do All the City Cats Coredy?
I will note that I still have standard litter boxes as Puffy refuses to use this new box at this time. Whether that will change, I don’t know but any of you that have cats know you can’t force a cat to change and I am not going to mess with box behaviors that a cat does not want to change. The risk is too great.
Fang and Black Cat are just fine with using this new technology. I suspect it’s because Puffy is older and more set in his ways. Who knows….maybe time will change his opinions. We will just have to wait and see.
