Gift giving can be challenging whether it is for the big holidays or for a just anything gift. There are a myriad number of options for sending a personalized gift but I’ve found one that I really like, a custom photo blanket. I was provided with gift codes from Collage.com for my choice of custom photo blankets for sharing my thoughts but any opinions are my own.
Custom Photo Blankets Make Great Gifts
When I went to Collage.com to make my custom photo blanket there were 6 options; fleece, plush fleece, sherpa, plush sherpa, printed woven and woven image. There are three sizes; 30 x 40, 50 x 60, 60 x 80.
I am one for soft, plushy things so I went for plush sherpa. Which is funny since I have a long haired cat named Sherpa and he IS rather plush. And I am sure none of you will be surprised that I had my custom photo blanket made with photos of my cats! So in a meta bit of photography here is my plush sherpa custom photo blanket with my plush Sherpa lounging upon it:
Pretty cool, isn’t it? This is, I know more of a cat photo than a blanket photo but it was just too much fun to pass up. But you can see how sharp the photo representations are on the blanket. I was very impressed.
The Details of the Blanket
The photo above is the mock up of what I ordered. Collage.com provided it when I was finished with my creation. While my photos are sharper than on the blanket one would expect that.
But I am truly impressed with how sharp and clear the blanket photos are. I ordered the largest size and it fits but doesn’t fall over the sides of my queen bed. The top is very soft, almost velvet in feeling.
The back is faux sherpa and very soft to the touch. I have not washed it yet* so I can’t answer as to how it responds to laundering. I do know that the cats love to lounge on it and I love to be wrapped up in it.
*UPDATE: I have washed it now and it washes like a dream. It went in on a regular wash cycle and if anything it feels softer to me. The colors are are still vibrant and it did not shrink. I do have a front loading machine.
How to Get a Custom Photo Blanket of Your Own
Ordering your own custom photo blanket is as easy as going to Collage.com, uploading your photos, arranging them and checking out. I also ordered a second blanket using the photos from our visit to the International Rose Test Garden in Portland, Oregon. The photo layout looked like this:
And the finished blanket is just as beautiful and vibrant. I am so impressed with how the colors really come through on these plush, custom photo blankets. Even after washing the colors stay bright and clear. Just ignore the lump off to the right. That is Harry the Farm cat. Sometimes there is just no getting things done without cats in the way around here.
They are also so very soft. And warm. I love to be warm and having extra blankets as the winter comes on will be wonderful. Especially pretty blankets.
Collage.com offers a wide array of other custom gifts so be sure to browse around the site. I was very pleased with how easy my custom photo blanket was to create. It arrived quickly and I am very happy with both of them.
