Today is election day and I do urge everyone, no matter your political affiliation to go out and vote. It’s one of the most important jobs we have as citizens of this country. If you don’t like how things are being run you can vote to make a change. If you do like how things are being run you can vote to maintain the status quo. But if you don’t vote don’t dare complain about the state of the country.
I must admit I will be happy to see an end to the political ads and phone calls for a bit. It has seemed like there has been nothing but commercials from both sides almost since the last election ended. There doesn’t seem to be any down time any longer and I’m sure it will soon pick up for the Presidential election in 2016. I for one could do with less money spent on ads full of lies and negative comments and more money spent on helping people who need the help.
So I suppose that leads me to searching for Peace. Something very much missing in the world these days. Today is the Blog Blast For Peace – an annual event where bloggers from all over the world create Peace Globes and blog about trying to find Peace in their world. The goats have been participating for many a year now and you can see their story over on Pricilla’s blog. You will also find the many, many peace globes made by searching Facebook and Twitter for #Blog4Peace, #BlogBlast4Peace, #Peace.
If you would like to make your own Peace Globe and join in you can go HERE to get one of your own and then you can dress it up however you would like. I used picmonkey.com to make Pricilla’s. You don’t need to blog about it – posting it on your facebook page or twitter is just fine. Be sure to include one of the hashtags and the words Dona Nobis Pacem which means grant us peace.
