Fall is in the Air so it’s Time for Sweaters

I don’t know about your part of the world but in mine it’s already getting a bit cool. In fact this weekend we are forecast to have lows in the high 30ies and the “highs” are not even going to crack 70°. That is a bit brrrrr for the beginning of September isn’t it? I mentioned a bit ago that I bought myself an outfit for my birthday. I went back to a new favorite online shop – Braintree Clothing – and picked up a skirt and a sweater. It will carry me through 3 seasons and be perfect for BarkWorld/MeowWorld! Yes, I am off to another blog conference. I wasn’t going to go because I really couldn’t afford a second trip in one year but it’s in Atlanta and my girlfriend lives there so I’m extending beyond the conference to stay with her and she is giving me airline miles! That makes it a very affordable vacation.  Needless to say I am really looking forward to going.

I’m trying to put together a couple of outfits for the conference and for traveling, plus I’m still attempting to establish a wardrobe that actually fits me. Most of what I have is at least one if not two sizes too big for me. I don’t need a lot but I do want enough to look presentable. I found Braintree on Facebook and just fell in love with their ethic and their designs. I showed you the first item I bought from them for BlogPaws, the beautiful Aphrodite Dress.

This time around I bought separates – the Kiki Multi Skirt and the Lily Cardigan. I knew this would give me many options going forward. The cardigan is a basic that belongs in any wardrobe.

It’s a staple piece knit from organic cotton yarn in a gorgeous royal blue color. It will go with jeans and with my khaki pants. It’s tightly knitted and beautifully designed.

The skirt has tie ups in two layers so that I can wear it long as I’m showing here or ruffled. I can leave it ruffled up on one side or all around. I just love the options. And of course it goes beautifully with my cowboy boots – always an important feature for me with any kind of dress or skirt. I love my boots. I’m on the look out for a new pair. Perhaps a fancier pair of some kind – I’m looking so we’ll see what happens.

I chose a pair of organic earrings made by an artisan friend, Jenni Pagano. They are raw kyanite with stick pearls on oxdized sterling silver. They have the same bit of hippy vibe as the skirt.

The shirt is mine – I’ve had it for quite a while. It’s from Michael Stars. It’s soft as all get out and a wonderful layering piece. I can also use a heavier sweater underneath as the weather changes. I’m very happy with my birthday present to myself. Both pieces are very welcome additions to my new wardrobe and I know I’ll be wearing them for years to come. I was able to purchase them both with a 20% off coupon from their newsletter. I love a good sale.!

So BarkWorld/MeowWorld here I come! I’ll be stylin’ in my new skirt and sweater. You can check out Braintree’s new Fall collection. I’ve got several pieces on my wishlist. If you sign up for their newsletter you get notice of sales and even extra discount coupons.

You can follow Braintree Clothing on Facebook and Twitter, I do!
