Every so often a girl wants a a great beach read – even if she doesn’t live at the beach. I thank TLC Book Tours for sending me a copy of Her Aussie Holiday by Stephanie London at no charge for my honest review.

Her Aussie Holiday

About Her Aussie Holiday:

Cora Cabot’s life is falling apart. So when her Australian friend announces she’s secured an internship in the States, Cora has a brilliant idea: house swap! Small-town Australia sounds like the perfect getaway. Only, when she gets there, the house isn’t empty. Turns out her friend’s hot Australian brother is staying there, too―and he doesn’t look happy to see her.

The last thing Trent Walters needs is a roommate for the summer. Especially an American who immediately floods the house and single-handedly destroys the family project his sister created for their parents’ anniversary. Now, not only does Cora insist on helping fix the house, he needs her help re-creating the family scrapbook. And glitter is not his forte.

But between late nights cooking, pints at the local pub, and competitive matches of cricket on the beach, Cora starts to break through Trent’s defenses. Too bad Cora made a promise to return to working with her father at the end of the summer―a promise she can’t break―because this holiday is starting to feel like one she never wants to end.

About the Author:

Growing up in Australia, Stefanie London came from a family of women who loved to read. After sneaking several literature subjects into her “very practical” Business degree, she got a job in Communications. When writing emails and newsletters didn’t fulfill her creative urges, she turned to fiction and was finally able to write the stories that kept her mind busy at night. Now she lives with her very own hero in Canada and dreams of traveling the world. Visit her online at http://stefanie-london.com

My Opinion:

Her Aussie Holiday is a fast read populated by the requisite good looking characters with hearts of gold. It’s the perfect book to distract you from all that is going on in the world right now. Cora from New York is friends with Liv from Australia. When Liv is presented with an opportunity to work in New York, Cora suggests they swap houses as she could use a vacation. So off to the warm climes of a small Austrailian town heads Cora and into the cold winter of a New York winter heads Liv.

Cora thinks she will be along in Liv’s house but she learns that Liv’s brother Trent doesn’t pay attention to Liv’s messages. He has left his current living situation and decided to crash at his sister’s house since she will be out of town; it will allow him to do some fix it work around the place as a surprise. So there is your meet cute.

Cora and Trent get to know each other and of course they are destined to fall in love but both are coming off bad break ups. Cora also feels very less than due to the way her parents treated her growing up. Trent has his own family secrets but he always felt loved. Both keep saying their relationship is only for fun but they keep falling deeper and deeper in love.

This was an engaging and easy read. It was a delightful escape for me during the busy harvest season here on the farm. It was nice to get away from chopping and processing vegetables to find myself in the company of attractive people in a beautiful place. The characters all fit the romantic ideals and make for good reading. The sex scenes are explicit and part of what makes the pages fly.

All in all a delightful way to while away the afternoon and escape on an Aussie holiday.
