I have long had a love for orchids. One year, I brought back an orchid from a trip to Hawaii to see if I could keep it in New Jersey. Surprisingly it thrived! I loved that plant; it bloomed constantly and the perfume it put out was heavenly. I was offered a copy of Orchids Handbook by Michael Tibbs at no charge for my honest review.

My Opinion:
I am not going to tell you that I’ve read this book cover to cover. It’s not that kind of book. I can tell you that I’ve looked through it several times since it arrived. I’ve been thinking for a while that I wanted another orchid so the timing of this books arrival was just about perfect. I now have two phalaenopsis orchids and will do my best to keep them alive – at least I have a great guide to help me.
The book takes the reader through understanding orchids, caring for orchids and the different types of orchids. I am going to reread some of the sections I looked through before now that I have my two babies to care for.
It’s written in a very easy to understand manner and is open to beginners as well as people who have some knowledge. Just think of what a fun gift this book and an orchid plant would make for someone.
