I am so disappointed that the year is coming to an end if only because this delightful photo challenge will no longer be a focus of my week. I have truly enjoyed it. This week Sally from The Studio Sublime has sent us A Pop of Red as our prompt. I could have gone so many ways with this and was going in a totally different direction until I came out of the goat barn one night…
We so rarely get sunsets with any kind of color as the sun does its setting behind the mountains so when I came out and saw that glorious red in the sky I knew my photo(s) would be pulled from the series I took of the sky this night. Most of our days end with just a very quick change from light to dark as the sun ducks behind the mountains.
But this night it reflected back onto the clouds in a startling burst of fuchsia red. I watched it for quite a while as it was so beautiful.
It started with just a stripe but it grew to that bold slash in the first photo. Coming from the seacoast of New Jersey, living in an area where I had unobstructed views of glorious sunsets almost every day the lack of them here is a small disappointment in the midst of all of nature’s glory. But once in a while nature gives me a little taste of what I once knew. And so I savor what I get when I get it.
But I could not let this prompt pass without including the following photo:
So I take you from the sublime to the ridiculous all in one post.
Welcome to my life.
Pricilla in her sweatshirt just made me laugh.
It has since warmed up so she doesn’t have to wear it any longer. She is very happy about that on many levels. She does though, look very good in red.
