The renegade cowboy returns
It’s been nine years since Trask Beaumont left Gilt Edge, Montana, with an unsolved crime in his wake, and Lillian Cahill has convinced herself she’s finally over him. But when the rugged cowboy with the easy smile suddenly shows up at her bar, there’s a pang in her heart arguing the attraction never faded. And that’s dangerous, because Trask has returned on a mission to clear his name and win Lillie back.
Tired of running, Trask knows he must uncover the truth of the past before he can hope for a future with the woman he’s never forgotten. But if Lillie’s older brother, the sheriff, learns that Trask is back in town, he’ll arrest him for murder. Now Trask is looking for a showdown, and he won’t leave town again without one—or without Lillie.

My Opinion:
Trask Beaumont has been away for 9 long years living under the cloud of being suspected of a murder he didn’t commit. But he’s a not a kid anymore – he’s a man who knows how to control his temper and he’s back in town to prove his innocence and win back the love of the one women he can’t forget. The problem is, he doesn’t know if she will take him back. Lillian Cahill was ready to leave everything she loves to run away with Trask but he left her waiting. Seeing him again brings back all of those old memories – the good and the very, very bad. Lillian feels the only way she will be able to move on from Trask is to help him prove that he isn’t a murderer and then she’ll be free of him.
Uh-huh. Then we wouldn’t have much of a romance novel, would we?
All does not go smoothly for our two as the past is full of secrets many would like kept hidden and the real killers don’t want any apple carts upset. As Trask and Lillian get closer to the truth it could lead to a level of trouble that neither one anticipated.
This was a classic western romance; a classic romance novel. It was an engaging diversion for an afternoon and I chose to read it because it takes place in Montana. It was quick moving novel with a wide range of diverse characters and it kept my interest. I’ll admit that I haven’t read a romance in a while and it was a nice break from my heavier books. Ms. Daniels has written many books and knows what works for her stories and her readers.
