Everyone knows it’s Game Time, right? I must admit that my interest was greater while my Philadelphia team was in play, especially as it gave me something to chat about with my nephew – he is a rabid Football fan. (He always keeps me up to date with how the team is playing.) The hubby and I will watch as we watch all of the “big games.” It’s tradition and of course with this particular event the commercials are half the fun! It also gives me a great excuse for some fun and tasty Football Party Ideas – even if it’s a party of two. Just because we are two it doesn’t mean we can’t have fun with our #GameTimeGoodies – right?
One fun food game we always play around the Broken Teepee household is Cheese vs. Everything on our DiGiorno Pizza. I like my pizza with cheese – lots of cheese and he likes his pizza with stuff. Lots of stuff. Good thing DiGiorno Pizzas are on Rollback at Walmart for $4.50! With a price like that I’m stocking up – how about you?
Are you ready to play? How do you like YOUR pizza? Are you with me? Do you enjoy cheese and only cheese? Or are you on the other team? Do you like everything on your DiGiorno? Want to know something? By purchasing a DiGiorno 4 Cheese Rising Crust Pizza BOTH sides win! Here’s how I did it in my kitchen:
To keep the hubby happy I did a simple saute of what I happened to have on hand; this night it was shallots, green peppers and garlic. Lots of garlic.
I added the vegetables to the top of the pizza, then a tin of anchovies – yes, he loves them too – and topped it with some fresh mozzarella. I popped the pizza on a pizza stone that preheated with the oven and when it came out – steaming, hot pizza that satisfied both sides. I had my cheesy deliciousness and he had his everything. What could be better? Of course if your household agrees on toppings you can pick up a Supreme Pizza or maybe Pepperoni. I am not at all averse to pepperoni. Mmmmm. Or the Italian Favorites or even Spinach, Mushrooms and Garlic – hubby would love that one!
I was so thrilled to find these easy to bake DiGiorno Pizzas on Rollback at Walmart – for $4.50 each. Having them on hand makes preparing Game Time food so simple. You just heat the oven (add toppings if you are doing so) set the timer. I’ve made the everything side for the hubby with raw toppings and it comes out just as tasty. No fuss, no bother and soon you have a perfect meal to eat in front of the Big Game.
I know I’ll be cooking DiGiorno when the hubby’s sport of choice starts up again with the big race in February at Daytona. Oh yeah. He is a fan. In fact for many years we went to the race. We would join a group of friends in a caravan and would stay together at the track. Each evening a different household would be responsible for dinner so no one was cooking every night. DiGiorno Pizzas would have made an excellent meal!
Are you ready for the Big Game? You still have plenty of time to get to Walmart and buy some DiGiorno Pizzas. With the Rollback pricing you can stock up and be ready for Game Night and many more delicious pizza nights going forward. Gotta love that!
