A Day in the Life of the Happy Ducks

The Happy Ducks are very spoiled. For those of you who haven’t met them yet they are the five Indian Runner Ducks that live on the farm. We got them as ducklings last spring and have watched them grow and become the fun and entertaining animals they have become. I post most frequently about them on facebook so if you follow me there you’ll keep up on their antics.

This shows their growth in selfies.

But back to A Day in the Life of the Happy Ducks. Every morning they get let out of their house and they march over to their little pond where they quackquackquackquackquack for their water.

This is how it goes every day for the Happy Ducks. They are just as spoiled as all of the other animals on the Farm…..

The hubby complies. They swim around. They eat. And then they go on the move.

Sometimes they fight the chickens for a mouse. THAT is always entertaining. Other times they just fight the chickens for whatever grain they can find on the ground. Surprisingly the ducks win even though they don’t have pointy beaks.

Then they hightail it over to Pricilla’s pen where they eat her hay. Yes, the ducks eat hay.

And drink her water. She hides from them. They can be rather like a swarm of locusts.

Then they head back to their own pen where they eat the goats’ hay.

They may venture back to their pond or they might just take a nap. They are really very funny animals and they make me laugh every day. I’m not sure how Pricilla feels about them. They seem to give the goats a wide berth but they attack the chickens regularly. They have no fear around the chickens – even around the roosters.

I hope you enjoyed this little peek into life on the farm.
