I received complimentary product from Orvis for this review.
I’m going home to visit my family in June and I can’t wait to see everyone. Of course I want to look my best when I go back; I haven’t been in New Jersey for three years so I think it was time to add some comfortable Spring style to my closet. When I’m traveling I want clothes that pack easily and don’t wrinkle. I also make sure that when I bring new pieces into my wardrobe that they will serve more than one purpose. That’s what I found so great about shopping the new Spring Women’s Collection at Orvis. There were a variety of great basics and then there were pieces with some flair to add to what I already have in my closet. I’ve long shopped at Orvis for the hubby to find what he needs for his fishing and camping but I’d really never looked at the clothing options for women.

There are so many wonderful classics in this years women’s spring collection that are so perfect for day trips, weekend getaways and for “Patty going home to see her family”. As I browsed through looking for a few pieces to add to my wardrobe, I thought about what my needs were; a basic white tee, a new pair of jeans and then a layering piece with a bit of color.
The hubby and I were heading to Arlee, Montana, (more on that trip later this week) and then to Missoula so I thought I’d give my new Orvis clothes a bit of a test wear. We stopped at Caras Park in Missoula, before shopping and dinner to enjoy the view. It was a gorgeous day and my beautiful coral Florence Travel Blouse just about glowed in the bright sunshine. The shirt is made from a practically wrinkle proof poly blend. It feels silky smooth and offers UPF 50 sun protection. It provided me some wind break from the cool breeze that was blowing off the river but it still breathes. This shirt is such a perfect travel piece as it can be dressed up or down. You can wear it like a jacket as I have done here or button it up and wear it under a vest or sweater. It is so versatile as are so many of the pieces in the Orvis Spring Collection.
Under the blouse I wore the super soft Breezy Hemp/Cotton Tee in classic white. It’s a shirt that will go anywhere - it also can be dressed up or down. It will be perfect in the heat of the summer back home at the shore in New Jersey. The cotton/hemp fabric is breathable and it almost feels like I have nothing on. It’s available in several colors and I think I’m going to pick up a couple of more. I’m particularly fond of the aqua color. If you’d like to pick one up for yourself I have exciting news!
I am thrilled with my clothes from Orvis. Both shirts will be invaluable for my trip home and in my wardrobe going forward. Sadly the jeans I ordered did not fit and I had to send them back. I must say that Orvis customer service is exceptional. My phone call with a representative in Virginia was friendly and she handled the issues I had with courtesy and did everything she could to help me. When I get my credit and buy something new I’ll show you in another post.
My new shirts from Orvis are sure to become favorites. They are both very comfortable to wear - in fit and due to their fabrics. I love pieces that are mix and match. You might think the color of the travel blouse might limit its use but you would be wrong! That lovely coral will go with so many colors and it will work with every neutral from brown to grey to khaki. I look forward to pairing it with patterned shirts and to wearing it as an additional layer with my sundresses.
You can check out the full Orvis Spring Collection where you will find jackets, vests, shirts, skirts, dresses and pants.
