I was sent samples from prAna. All opinions are my own.
It’s a busy time of year. We are all running around trying to get everything done; the baking, the decorating, the cleaning, the shopping. Especially the shopping. I do a lot of my shopping online as I have mentioned many a time. As an avid online shopper I am trying lately to be an aware shopper. I am looking for products that are fair trade and made with sustainable materials. I recently learned of a company called prAna and I am happy to add them to my list of go tos for future purchase and gift giving - learn why buying sustainable fair trade fashion gifts is a good idea.
Sometimes the addition of one sweater can liven a wardrobe in many ways. I don’t buy many clothes these days but when I do I think long and hard about them. I try to make sure that whatever I buy will serve more than one purpose, that it is made from natural materials and I really seek out sustainable and fair trade items. So what does that mean?
Sustainable: organic cotton which lessens the pesticide load on the land and on the farmers. Hemp - it’s extremely versatile, thermo-conductive, anti-microbial, fast-growing, and hearty as hell. It can be woven into exceptionally soft clothing. This Stacia Sweater (in Harbor Blue) from prAna is made from organic cotton. It has has a tight knit that makes it a warm layer and it is very soft to the touch.
One Sweater, Many Looks
The soft blue of this sweater is a perfect complement to a Pendleton skirt I just picked up on ThredUp. I add an Elie Tahari jacket also from ThredUp and my new gold flats and I’m all set for a night out to dinner,
I can go business casual with a pair of khakis and handknit neckwarmer with the same gold shoes for a touch of whimsy in the work day - if I worked of course. This would also make a great out to lunch outfit.
Then I can dress it down by wearing the Stacia sweater with my jeans and my favorite sherpa lined vest. I bought that vest before we moved into the fifthwheel so it’s an antique at this point but I love it. I’ve added a necklace from Orion Designs (Vicki also knit the neck warmer) plus blue leather flats and I’m good to go!
One sweater, three distinct looks.
