I am happy to bring you a giveaway today for the book, Tides of Honour by Genevieve Graham. It was released in Canada in April, 2015 and sold ove 7000 copies in the first four months! It’s since been released in the US and one lucky Broken Teepee US reader will get to win a copy.
Ms. Graham wrote to me about her book and her inspiration for writing it, she wrote that when she and her family moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia from Calgary, Alberta, she had never heard of the Halifax Explosion, which is still the second largest manmade explosion of all time. She began to look into it, and before long she realized this was a story which needed to be brought back to life. December 6, 2017 will be the 100th anniversary of the Explosion, and she is hoping to have her book made available in high schools across the province so the victims will be remembered. She doesn’t “pull punches” when she writes, so while there is no gratuitous violence, she doesn’t shy away from reality. There’s no swearing or sex in the book (though there are a few “fade to black” moments.). It’s more of a “love story” than a “romance”, and it is chiefly Historical Fiction.
