There are four Farm cats so that means I go through a lot of cat litter. I like litter that helps deal with a particular issue – stinky boxes. Or should I write Stinky in the box? You see that is how Stinky the Farm cat came by her name. We found her in a campground in New Jersey. The poor little thing was in bad shape but we took her in and gave her a home. At that time we were living in our fifthwheel trailer, a 400 square foot space that with her addition contained two humans and three cats. Stinky had another name at first but it soon became apparent that you KNEW when Stinky was in the litter box.
Even if you were outside. It was not good.
So Stinky became Stinky and Stinky she remains even in a 2,000 square foot yurt. Now half of that space is the basement and that is where the three litter boxes are kept. I was excited to try Cat’s Pride® Fresh & Light Ultimate Care® Cat Litter. For one thing it’s over 50% lighter at 10lbs† which is wonderful for me as I have trouble lifting things and in all truth I’m not supposed to lift anything over 20 lbs. (Shhhh, that was NOT me moving the 25lbs of sugar.)
On the Stinky side of the equation Fresh & Light Ultimate care gives 10+ day odor control* which makes the humans on the top floor of the yurt very happy! I was duly impressed. I gave the Ultimate Care a real test – I only put it in one of the three litter boxes. I was very surprised to note that it turned out to be the box used most often.
Usually I would find that each box was used pretty evenly but after I put the Ultimate Care in the one box I would often find the other two boxes unused. That certainly let me know what the Farm cats thought about the Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light Ultimate Care.
It was easy to find Fresh & Light at Walmart – it was in the pet care aisles. Before you shop be sure to check for special offers and coupons. Saving money is always a good thing!
I was very happy to learn that Cat’s Pride is partnering with the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation™; a portion of each sale goes to help stop animal abuse. They also support the American Humane Association. I love a business that gives back.
How to Make a Personalized Kitty Kibble Container
It’s very easy to make a DIY personalized kitty kibble container. It’s a way to dress up a plain tub with favorite photos of your kitties. I know mine makes me smile every time I take some out to fill up the Farm cats’ kibble bowls. I used PicMonkey.com to make the personalized front piece as it is a free, online design site but obviously if you have another site or program you like the directions are so simple you can make them work with any program. You will need:
- 1 storage tub – I used a 37 cup
- sheet of paper
- color printer
- clear packing tape
- scissors
Then it is as easy as this:
If you cannot see the movie you can watch it on YouTube HERE
It was a big hit with the Farm cats. They know it has their kibble in it. I let them give it a very thorough look-see. It IS for them after all. I am sure they are more than satisfied.
Although I think they are more happy with what is inside the Personalized Kitty Kibble Container than they are with the personalization. As per usual Pumpkin was in hiding for all photographic efforts. He is a camera shy cat.
This personalized Kitty Kibble Container would also make a wonderful gift for a friend with a cat or two or three. You could pick up a jug of Cat’s Pride® Fresh & Light Ultimate Care Cat Litter and make them one of these containers and fill it with kitty kibble. It would be a gift that would be very much appreciated.
