There was a time when I wore a suit to work every day. I haven’t done that in a long time but my sense of style still leans towards the clean and classic – with some turns towards the bohemian now and then. I do go to the occasional blog conference and I like to dress in a more professional manner when I head out to one, especially if I am being sponsored like I was went I went to BlogPaws this year. Then I like to pack easy to wear clothing like the pieces I recently discovered from Ministry of Supply.

Who Is Ministry of Supply?
The company was started to create professional clothing that is wearable, comfortable and sustainable. Starting with ideas from athletic wear Ministry of Supply started with dress shirts and socks and has now branched out to a set of basics that men and women can mix and match. The pieces all intermix and are in a neutral palette so women will have no problem accessorizing to make each outfit unique.
I was sent an Easier Than Silk Shirt. It is antimicrobial, wrinkle resistant, and moisture wicking. The shirt comes in 6 different neutral colors including the soft pink that I am wearing. The material does have the feel of a heavyweight silk but it is, of course, not silk.
I will note that as I tried it on I really fell in love with the design. I am not the bustiest of women by a long shot but I still have issues with shirts gapping at the bustline. This shirt has an extra, hidden button to keep that from happening. This is so brilliant! I moved and twisted and picked things up and the shirt stayed closed. There are also darts which helps the make the shirt fit very well. All of the seams are reinforced.
It is very comfortable and I knew I was in a quality, well made blouse. This will be a piece that can be dressed up or down. I can see it under a sweater in the winter, over a sundress as an extra layer or just as you see me today – over a pair of dress slacks with a necklace and some cat hair. ‘Cause Harry always has to help.
What Would I Pack for a Conference?
Ministry of Supply makes it so easy to pack for a conference. The pieces are interchangeable and given that they are wrinkle resistant they can be easily packed in a backpack. So, what would I take in my imaginary conference backpack?
I’ve given it some thought and I would go with my Easier Than Silk Shirt in blush, the Slim Kinetic Pants in grey heather and the Women’s Kinetic Blazer in navy. With those three basics I would just need to add a couple of pairs of flats – this girl does not wear heels any longer – a light sweater ’cause you know I am always cold, a couple of dress tees and some jewelry and I’d be good to go for the duration. The only other consideration would be if I needed a dress for a banquet as some conferences do. And underwear of course but that doesn’t take up too much space and smart packers stuff it in their shoes, amirite?
Talk About Easy to Wear
Ministry of Supply has a new product coming out later this year and when I read about it I got very excited. It’s the Mercury Intelligent Heated Jacket. Oh, yes – a heated jacket. How awesome is that?
It’s currently a Kickstarter and will be available in November. All I can think about is all of that warm in a jacket. I cannot explain it, my brain just hears warm and it goes to my happy place. Therefore I will let Ministry of Supply tell you all about it:

Easy to Wear Ministry of Supply
The clothes from Ministry of Supply do veer from my usual posts about clothes. I write about online thrift shopping more often than not. BUT when it comes to basics that are timeless I am a firm believer in buying quality because it will last and never go out of style.
There is nothing flashy or trendy about the pieces from Ministry of Suppy – OK that heated jacket is pretty cool but I’m writing about style, not tech. I’m writing about quality basics around which you can build a wardrobe.
